I'm Not Lion
Today I'm wearing the second glitter in the China Glaze On Safari collection. This times it's I'm Not Lion. I'm Not Lion has silver gold and holographic glitter. It has more holo than I Herd That. Like I Herd That, it also covers well in two coats and feels smooth on the nail. I'm not sure which one I like more between the two... IHT has more color, but IML has more holo! Either way, I think they're both keepers.
I Herd That
When I saw China Glaze's fall collection, on Safari, I knew I would definitely picking up the glitter polishes. There are two glitters in the collection, and one of them is called I Herd That. I Herd That is packed with small gold and copper, and even a tiny bit of holo, glitter. It has full coverage in two coats, but I did three for good measure. Since the glitter is so fine, I found that the nail was very smooth, which is a plus.

Watchmen
Today I have nail art inspired by The Watchmen. I've never seen the movie, but I read the comic and really enjoyed it. On my pinky is the symbol that Dr. Manhattan gives himself. My ring finger is the top of Silk Spectres outfit. My middle ringer is Rorschach's mask, and my pointer is Nite Owl's belt.
My thumb is Comedian's badge with blood splatter.
I used Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, Shabby Drab, and Heart To Heart, Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, China Glaze Purr-fect Plum, Nicole By OPI Dandy Lion, and a black and white.

Nautical
Not long ago I realized that I have never done any nautical nail art. I put it on my to-do list, and have now finally gotten to it. I looked online for some inspiration of how to aproach this, and I saw a medley of things, so I decided to go for a skittle look. I did this late at night, so it's definitely not perfect, but I think it turned out alright.
I used China Glaze First Mate for the blue. The red is Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, and the white is Wet N Wild Fench White.

Half Moon and Beyond
This is my 300th post! Wow! That sure is a lot. For my manicure today I really wanted to do a half moon. But I didn't want to just do just a plain old half moon, I wanted to add a little something to it. So I put a sort of netting looking design above the mooon curve. I love how this turned out! The colors remind me of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame for some reason. I think the hardest part about this manicure was getting the angle right on the lines when making the crossed lines.

My Worst Enemy
Today I attempted needle drag again. I don't think I've ever posted any of my other attempts before because they were probably just too awful. This time I was actually mildly successful. I just don't understand the needle drag technique. How does anyone get it perfect!? Although I got some polish to drag over, I was left with gaps and exposed nail in the places that I did it. I hate that, but I just don't see anyway to avoid it! Maybe someday I'll get it right, but for now I just don't think it's ment to be.
I used Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Mellow Yellow, and Fuschia Power.

Strawberry Fields
I've had China Glaze Strawberry Fields for a while now. I ordered it online, and when I got it I just wasn't thrilled with how it looked in the bottle, so I stashed it away. Not having anything to wear the other day, I thought I'd give it a shot. Let me tell you, I love this polish! It's so much prettier on the nail than in the bottle, that's for sure. SF is a rosey pink with lots of gold shimmer. The shimmer is pretty prominent in most lightings. In the bottle the pink looks very opaque and creamy, but on the nail its much more of a jelly finish. The formula on this polish is pretty normal, nothing notable about it. It's a great summer polish.

The Dark Knight
Today I have Batman nails! Since I'm seeing The Dark Knight Rises tonight, I did some nail art for it! This post is titled The Dark Knight because the manicure I did is mostly inspired by the upcoming movie.
I did the Gotham City Police Department Insignia on my pinky. My ring finger is banes mask, my middle finger is the classic Batman logo, and my pointer is Catwoman.
The Batman logo in The Dark Knight Rises.
I used Wet N Wild Black Creme, French White Creme, Xtreme Wear Wet Cement, Pacific Blue, Mellow Yellow, and Cherry Red.Sunday, July 15, 2012
Purple Cracked Concrete
Today I just have a very quick post showcasing a crackle look. in my opinion, purple and gray make a great combination, so it only made sense to pair these two polishes together! I painted a think coat of crackle polish, China Glaze Cracked Concrete, over Color Club Pucci-Licious.
And of course a coat of Essie Matte About You.

Through The Decades- 80s
Today's Through The Decades post is the 80s! I was most excited for this because I absolutely love the 80s and so wish I was alive during this decade more than any other. I think that the 80s is very much recognized for its wonderfully awful fashion. So, to channel that aspect of the 80's I did a splatter manicure. I know I've definitely seen some outfits with paint splatter designs from this time period.
My lovely unintentional masterpiece
I also did the same splatter over a black base just for fun, here is a crummy picture of it!
I used China Glaze Four Leaf Clover, Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Twisted Pink, and Mellow Yellow over a white and black bases.

Through The Decades- 60s
Today I present the next installment of my Through The Decades series. Next up in line is the 60s! When I think of the 60's, what really comes to mind is classic shows like The Twilight Zone and Leave It To Beaver. I would have loved to do something inspired by those, but I just couldnt come up with anything. With that in mind, I stuck with the hippie vibe. I did a water warble design with rainbow colors to get the tie dye look. It doesn't really look tie dye, but you get the point, and anyway, I really like how the water marble design turned out.
I used Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Green With Envy, Blue Me Away, Color Club Pucci-Licious, Xtreme Wear Fucshia Power, Color Club Heart To Heart, And Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed.

Through The Decades- 50s
Today I'm starting a week long, or rather a five day long series entitled "Through The Decades." I'm going to do manicures for decade starting from the 50's and ending with the 90's. For my first manicure in this series I did the 50's. For the 50's I thought of the poodle skirts, and rock n' roll, and what not.
I used Color Club Heart To Heart, Yum Gum, Raspberry Rush, Wicked Sweet, Essie Power Clutch, Wet N Wild French White Creme, and Black Creme.

Glitter Color Block
I used Zoya Mira and Wet N Wild It's All About The Cut to create this very simple manicure. I love glitter as an accent to creme finished polishes. Not really much else to say about this manicure. It took all of about 5 minutes to do.
