Product Of A Failure

This manicure is a product of a failure. I tried my hand at one of those needle drag manicures, but of course it was a total mess. I attempted it on one nail and just gave up. But I'd already had some polish on my other nails, so the only thing I could do was to come up with a simple design to cover up the monstrosity. That's how this came about. I'm pretty unimpressed by it, but it gets the job done. Oh and I happened to delete the one picture of this I actually liked. What a fail day.
Four Leaf Clover is hardly color accurate.
I used China Glaze For Audrey, Zoya Mira, and China Glaze Four Leaf Clover.

Flaming C

The Flaming C is Conan O'brien's super hero alter ego. Outfit-wise, he's probably one of the most unique and silly heros ever invented. There are so many aspects to the Flaming C that are perfect to paint. When I finally narrowed it down, I got to work.
His fishnet stockings, his marijuana leaf belt, FC's logo, his oven mitt
The Star of David on FC's shoulder.

I frankened a nude for my pinky, and used black for the stockings. Ring is Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away!, Going Green, Color Club Pucci-licious, and white. Middle is XW BMA!, Mellow Yellow with Sunkissed on top, and CC Pucci-licious. Pointer is XW Mellow Yellow with black, and my thumb is XW BMA! and white.

Chevrons

I thought I'd do a simple tape manicure, and what immediately came to mind were chevrons. Well, I tried using tape to mark off the chevron, but when I pulled the tape up it did some weird thing the my base color. As a result, I gave up on the tape and just hand painted this design instead. No matter what I do tape manicures never work out for me.
The base color is Color Club Yum Gum, and the chevrons are Xtreme Wear Rockstar Pink.

Pasteled Cheeta

I finally got the courage to do cheeta print! Or is it leopard? I don't really know the difference, but either way, it was a lot easier than I expected, and I really like the outcome.
I used the same gradient as yesterday, Xtreme Wear Mint Sorbet, Lacey Lilac, Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, and Vintage Couture. I detailed with just a regular black. I love these nails so much I actually kept them on for three days. That's like a record! I got so many compliments on these, people couldn't believe I did the print myself!

Matted Flakie

I've heard around that matted flakies look pretty cool, maybe even better than when they're shiny, so of course I had to take a look for myself. Of course it's awesome. I got a ton of compliments on it, and most people thought it was a much more complicated process than it actually is.
I layered Essie Shine Of The Times and Finger Paints Asylum over Xtreme Wear Black Out. I topped that all of with Essie Matte About You.

Ranma 1/2

This manicure is inspired by Ranma 1/2, a Japanese anime about a boy who, when splashed with cold water, turns into a girl.
Ukyo's spatula, Ryoga's bandana, Ranma's shirt, Genma in panda form.
1/2, hence the name.

Pinky- Orly Royal Navy, China Glaze Millennium, Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow
Ring- XW Mellow Yellow, Black
Middle- XW Cherry Red, Mellow Yellow, and Black
Pointer- Black, and White
Thumb- Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, XW Cherry Red and Orly Royal Navy

Purple Zebra Xing

Out of no where I got the urge to try out another animal print design. Since I'm still not brave enough to do cheeta print, I took another shot at zebra! I'd like to think I did a better job than last time... I used the polish I swatched yesterday, Nina Ultra Pro Purple-Xing, and detailed with Wet N Wild French White Creme.
I really like the look of the white stripes.

Purple-Xing

I was at Sally's recently, and for the first time ever I actually looked at the Nina Ultra Pro selection they have. The only one that really caught my eye was Purple-Xing. Purple-Xing has a deep purple jelly base with holographic glitters all throughout. The polish was a bit thick and goopy, but manageable.

Finger Paints Asylum

I recently acquired Finger Paints Asylum. Asylum is part of their "flakie" collection. It consists of purple and red flakies in a clear base. It applied really well and had good coverage for one coat. This color is pretty awesome, take a look.
Xtreme Wear Flirt, Black, Xtreme Wear Grey Area, White
China Glaze Shower Together
Over white.

Revlon Whimsical

First I'm going to show you China Glaze Sea Spray. Sea Spray is a light blue with hints of grey and shimmer. It was really opaque.
Over Sea Spray I layered Revlon Whimsical, which was mildly disappointing. It was large blue and pink hexagonal glitters and smaller duochromish glitters in a cheer light blue base. I knew that the base of this color was going to be sheer, what disappointed me was that the glitters were so sparse! I didn't even get a satisfactory amount of glitters on the nail and it had became super thick.
These pictures show off the tiny glitters the best.

Argyle

My friend wore an awesome argyle sweater to school the other day and the first thought that popped into my head was that I had to do argyle nail art. So that's how this came about!
I used Essie Power Clutch, Xtreme Wear Wet Cement, and Pacific Blue.

Revisited

Today's manicure is not all that original. A bit of a while back I posted this manicure. I liked it a lot but I had always had an alternate color scheme in mind. So today I figured I'd go ahead and give it another shot! Here's what I came up with.
The white is Wet N Wild French White Creme. The dark pink is Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power, and the light pink is Color Club Vintage Couture. The Blue is Xtreme Wear Blizzard Blue.

X Marks The Holo

One of my favorite combinations is using different colors in that "holo"- like finish. Naturally, when I got Color Club Wild At Heart, one of those "holos", I had to do another one of those manicures. I was originally going to do this as a tape manicure, but I thought that would be way to time consuming. Plus my tape work is usually pretty sloppy, the opposite effect of what it's supposed to be. So I just settled for my usual brush detailing.
I used China Glaze Techno Teal, Color Club Worth The Risque, and Wild At Heart

China Glaze Atlantis

China Glaze Atlantis. Wow! I've wanted this polish for a while, a long while, but I held off because I thought it would be too similar to Color Club Untamed Luxury. When I eventually decided that I would definitely buy it, it was sold out! But I finally got my hands on it! Boy am I glad, this color is amazing. The first couple pictures are the most color accurate, despite quality.
Atlantis has a green teal jelly base with scattered holographic glitters! A perfect combination! This builds well. I only used two coats, but you could go with three. I got a lot of compliments with this polish!
