Effie Trinket Nails

While watching The Hunger Games I noticed Effie Trinket's phenomenal nail art. One look in particular was what she wore during the reaping. My sister even leaned over to me and whispered " I think you have a new manicure" and I couldn't agree more! I love this look!

The Hunger Games- District 1

District 1! I was originally only going to do 4 districts for this series and I ended up doing all of them! Thats not all though, I have my final Hunger Games manicure, which I'm wearing to the midnight premiere tonight, that will be posted tomorrow, so stay tuned! Anyway, district 1 is luxury. They basically provide The Capitol with all their gems and luxury items and what not.
I did a bedazzled nail, a 1 for the district, a diamond, because gems are their major export, and a sort of sunburst thing that you can see on the district seal. My thumb is just fancy.

I used, what else, Color Club Untamed Luxury, Ulterior Motive, Zoya Savita, China Glaze Frotsbite, Luxe And Lush, Millennium, Xrteme Wear Golden- I, Set The Stage, and Celeb City. The gems were all from a Bundle Monster pack

The Hunger Games- District 2

Hey, this is my 200th post! Anyway, District 2 is the masonry district. Not only that, but it is also the most loyal to the capitol. They produce many peacekeepers as well as weaponry.
I did a sledgehammer, used in masonry, a 2 for the district with a stone wall pattern. On my middle finger is a gun to represent the weaponry and on my pointer is the side of a peacekeepers uniform. On my thumb is a stone wall.

I used China Glaze Stone Cold, Millennium, Mahogany Magic, Xtreme Wear Grey Area, Wet Cement, and a black and white.

The Hunger Games- District 3

This manicure is inspired by district 3. This districts industry is technology.
On my pinky is a wire which is used by Beetee, a district 3 native, during the 75th Hunger Games. On my ring finger is a 3 for the district in a digital form, and on my middle finger is a gear, which is on the district seal. On my pointer is a clock because Wiress, also from district 3, figures out that the arena is a clock during the 75th Hunger Games. On my thumb is a bomb because the male tribute from district 3 during the 74th Hunger Games is very skilled with explosives.

I used China Glaze Riveting, Mahogany Magic, Millennium,  Midnight Kiss, Xtreme Wear Violet Voltage, Color Club The Lime Starts Here, and a black and white.

The Hunger Games- District 4

District 4 is the fishing district. It is also the home of Finnick Odair, one of my favorite characters.

You can see the fish bones design stamped on my ring finger
I really wanted to try out some new bundle monster plates I got so I did a leaf design to be seaweed. I did a number 4 for the district in a sort of coral shape. On my middle finger I did a trident because that is what Finnick commonly uses as a weapon. I then did a netting pattern and on my thumb I did a scaly mermaid pattern.

I used China Glaze For Audrey, Dorothy Who?, Hook And Line, Agro, Orly Sweet Peacock, Zoya Charla, Xtreme Wear The Real Teal, Coral Reef, Golden-I, Celeb City, and Finger Paints Asylum.

The Hunger Games- District 5

Not much is known about District 5 other than that it's main resource is power.
I did an electrical tower on my pinky and a number 5 on my ring finger for the district. On my middle finger is a fox to represent Foxface, the female tribute from district 5 during the 74th Hunger Games. On my pointer is the symbol on the district seal, and on my thumb is power button.

I used China Glaze Millennium, Electrify, Frostbite, Zoya Holly, Color Club Take Me To Chateau, a black and white, and frankened oranges for the foxes face.

The Hunger Games- District 6

So today I'm multi-posting! This is something I think I may have done once before. I'm doing this because I have finished my Hunger Games series, but since my blog is a couple posts behind, all the manicures wouldn't be up in time for the premiere of the movie. Anyway, this is District 6, the district of transportation.
I did a traffic light, a 6 for the district, railroad tracks, a street, and a psychedelic water marble on my thumb to represent all the morphling addicts in this district.

I used Xtreme Wear Going Green, Mellow Yellow, Cherry Red, Grey Area, Fuchsia Power, Sun Kissed, Green With Envy, Blue Me Away, China Glaze Millennium, Agro, Fast Track, and Revlon Hot For Chocolate.

The Hunger Games- District 7

District 7 is the lumber district. It is also the home of Johanna Mason, a character met in the second novel, Catching Fire.
I did two different trees, because it is the lumber district. On my ring finger is an axe shaped similarly to a 7 because of the district number, and people cut down trees with axes. My pointer is an abstract representation of pine needles. On my thumb is the pattern of a cut piece of wood.

I used Revlon Hot For Chocolate, China Glaze Millennium, Zoya Shawn, Sinful Colors Show Me The Way, Xtreme Wear Going Green, and Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau

The Hunger Games- District 8

District 8 is the textile district. I couldn't wait to get to this district because it's the first one that is actually bright and colorful.

 accidentally nicked my thumb.

I googled " textiles and there were a lot of intricate designs, most of them had a lot of diamond shapes. I took inspiration from those pictures and did my own textile patterns. I painted an 8 for the district in a diamond shape. On the thumb I did a sewing needle and thread, which can be found on the districts seal.

I used Xtreme Wear Grey Area, Bubblegum Pink, Pacific Blue. Cherry Red, Lacey Lilac, Coral Reef, Zoya Mimi, Kiki, Color Club Twiggie, and China Glaze Millennium.

The Hunger Games- District 9

Hardly anything is known about District 9. They are barely even mentioned in the books, luckily the internet exists to at least tell me that 9 is the grain district. Oh boy. I was really grasping at straws with this manicure.
I did polka dots to represent grain, A 9 for the district number, the district seal, and my version of a wheat field. Yeah.. not my best work.

I used Revlon Hot For Chocolate, China Glaze Agro,  Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, and I frankened a wheat like color.

The Hunger Games- District 10

Today is another Hunger Games manicure. This time I did District 10, the livestock district. Not much is known about this district other than that, so I painted various animals that are in the livestock industry.
I painted a chicken, who's red paint smeared when applying topcoat, a ten shaped like wool for the district number, cow print, a pig, and a butcher knife because it's on the districts seal.

I used Xtreme Wear Going Green, Fuchsia Power, Bubblegum Pink, Sun Kissed, Cherry Red, China Glaze Millennium, Revlon Hot For Chocolate, and a black and white.

The Hunger Games- District 11

This is my second manicure in this series! It is inspired by District 11, the agriculture district. It's actually more inspired by Rue, an ally of Katniss's during the games, who come from District 11.
I did a tree on my pinky because Rue is very good at scaling trees, An 11 for the district, corn from the districts seal, because they're the district of agriculture. On my pointer I did a bunch of colorful flowers that Rue was covered in, and the on my thumb I did four music notes for the four note song that Rue sings to the mockingjays.

I used Revlon Hot For Chocolate, Xtreme Wear Going Green, Mellow Yellow, Fuchsia Power, Blue Me Away, Coral Reef, Bubblegum Pink, Green With Envy, Violet Voltage, and a black and white.

The Hunger Games- District 12

Because of the upcoming Hunger Games movie, I'm starting a series of nail art representing each of the 12 Districts of Panem. I may not do all 12 districts in times for the film, but since there are supposed to be three movies I may continue the series when the next ones come out. There will be at least four district manicures and then one for the actual movie premiere. To start off this series I did District Twelve, The mining district, and also Katniss's home.

On my pinky is the fence that surrounds District 12, which Katniss always crosses to go hunting. Then I have a 12 for the district number in a firey gradient. My middle finger is smoke and my pointer is a pickaxe, which miners use in the mines. My thumb is supposed to be a "seam" to represent the area of the district which Katniss lives in, nicknamed The Seam.

For this manicure I used a black and a white, Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, Sun Kissed, Mellow Yellow, Grey Area, Going Green, Wet Cement, Essie Power Clutch, Revlon Hot For Chocolate, and China Glaze Millennium. I also frankened my own color for the handle of the pickaxe.
