Frankenstein

Today is Halloween, but I still have another manicure after this to post! My power has been out and I've been unable to access the internet. I guess it works out well though because Trick-Or-Treating is rescheduled for Saturday in my neighborhood anyway. For my nails I did Frankenstein, or Frankenstein's monster, if you want to be picky about it. I did Frankenstein's face, and neck bolts,  the Bride of Frankenstein's hair, and some stitches.
The base of the bolts is,China Glaze It's Alive, the bolts are Essie No Place Like Chrome. The base of Frankenstein is Xtreme Wear Green With Envy, and the shading on him is just that color with some black mixed in. The Bride of Frankenstein's hair is Zoya Dovima, and some white. The base on my thumb is LA Splash Greenery.

Halloween Braid

I haven't done a braid manicure in a while, so I thought I'd do one that's a bit festive. This is a more simple Halloween manicure. I'm little bit on iffy on this one. I can't tell if I like it or not. I wish that I had changed up the order of the colors a bit.
I used XW Black Out, Zoya Arizona, Color Club Twiggie, and Pucci-Licious.

Yikes!

There's a spider in the candy corn! This is another Halloween nail art of mine. I wanted to do a candy corn manicure, but I also wanted to mix it up a bit. I love my spider design from last year, so I thought I would incorporate that in. I guess this little guy really digs candy corn.
The candy corn colors are Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, and White Out. Then I used that white and Xtreme Wear Black Out for the spider and the webs. His eyes are XW Raspberry Rave.

Eyeballs

Hello! Today I have another Halloween nail art. For this manicure I painted eyeballs! I like the way they turned out, but I had intended to make them glow in the dark, and I ended up completely forgetting about it while I was painting. What a bummer.
The base is Xtreme Wear White On and the veins are Sally Hansen Hi-Res. The base of the eye colors are China Glace Man Hunt, Mahogany Magic, La Splash Greenery, and Essie Power Clutch. I'm not sure what the colors of the details in the eyes are because I was just mixing a bunch of polishes together for that part.

Right Amount Of Evil

Hello! I recently picked up Orly Right Amount Of Evil. It is part of the Flash Glam FX collection, and like Monster Mash, is sold through the Halloween collection as well. I decided to get it because I down own any sort of orange glitter. Rather than having orange glitters, RAOE has silver holographic hexagonal and bar glitters in a bright orange jelly base. It also has a bit of pink shimmer to it. The polish isn't really that thick, but I think dabbing the glitter on is the best method. I love tje pink in this color.
Two coats of Right Amount Of Evil over Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, Black, White, and Coral Reef.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Last night my school held their annual Breast Cancer Awareness football game! Everyone gets all decked out in pink, and it's really fun. I haven't done any BCA nail art yet, so I thought it was high time that I get to it! I tried out two manicures for the occasion.

For this manicure I used Zoya Shelby as the base. I sponged on Zoya Kimber, and did the ribbons with Xtreme Wear Pink Punch.
With this look I started out with Xtreme Wear Black Out. The hot pink ribbons are Xtreme Wear Pretty In Hot Pink, and the light ones are Color Club Vintage Couture. The glitter is Color Club Candy Cane.

Vampire

Hello! Today is really my first Halloween nail art of the year! For this manicure I painted a vampire, or more specifically, Dracula. On my pointer is the coffin he sleeps in, and on my middle finger is a portrait of the vampire. On my ring finger I painted bats, and on my pinky is the blood dripping from his victims. I just love Dracula's widows peak!
The base colors are Color Club Pucci-Licious, Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, Sun Kissed, and White On. Pretty much all the details were done with those colors, along with Essie Good As Gold, LA Splash Nudist and XW Black Out.

Ants In My Pants

Today I'm wearing a Wet N Wild Spoiled polish called Ants In My Pants. I just love that name. My friend actually got this polish for herself but eventually gave it away to me. I'll accept just about anything nail polish. AIMP has large and small red glitters in a black jelly base. On my ring ringer is AIMP alone, all the rest it's layered over a black. I like the jelly finish, but the Spoiled brushes are so awful that it's too difficult to get a nice even coverage. Other than the brush, I think this is a really neat color. It reminds me of Revlon Facets Of Fuchsia, which I love, except red instead of purple!

Pumpkin Patch

Hello! This is my first nail art for the fall season! Since it's not quite time for Halloween nail art, in my opinion, so I wanted to do something a bit more seasonal. I painted some pumpkins! I couldn't resist adding a face to one of them.
The base is Xtreme Wear Pumpkin Spice. The pumpkins are XW Sun Kissed and Roguish Red. The stems are LA Splash Going Green.

China Glaze Wicked Collection

Hello! It's late Friday, but I have some swatches to show! These colors are from the China Glaze Wicked collection. They are the the colors that come in the four piece set along with the glow-in-the-dark polish.

Glitter Goblin has small orange and holographic glitters packed into a clear base. The formula isn't thick at all, and a lot of glitter goes onto the nail when you apply it. If you want to wear it alone, I recommend three coats.
Roguish Red is a red orange creme. Depending on the lighting it sometimes looks more red, or more orange. I was expecting this to be more of a jelly, but it was very opaque and had great color pigmentation This isn't really my type of color, but it's nice. I have one coat of Glitter Goblin on my ring finger, and I really dig the combination.
Bizarre Blurple has a purple base with blue shimmer. The formula was great, and I just love the color. I was expecting to hate Glitter Goblin over this, but I grew to actually like it a lot.

Orly Monster Mash

Hello! Today I have Orly Monster Mash. It's from the Flash Glam FX line, but it's sold through the 2012 Halloween collection. I almost wasn't going to get this, but of course I talked myself into it. I'm very glad that I did! Monster Mash has grass green hexagonal glitter, as well as small round and bar glitters in a light green jelly base. You can't see the base in my photos because I swatched over black, which I hadn't really considered until I was done painting my nails. The glitters all have holo to them. The formula is a tiny bit on the thicker side, but that's pretty much expected with a glitter polish like this. This polish is awesome, I couldn't stop staring at my nails the whole time I wore it, and I got a ton of compliments. I can't wait to try this over other colors.

Stamping

Hello! This is my last post from the draft vault. I can't wait to start posting new stuff! Today's manicures were done while I was experimenting with stamping. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! For the first nails I did a base of Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau and stamped on China Glaze Deviantly Daring using BM-21. There are a few mess ups in the stamping, but I love the color combination!

For the second manicure the base is China Glaze Man Hunt and I stamped on Essie Good As Gold using BM-19. The stamping itself was a bit better, but I just wasn't huge on the color combination.

Antique Nails

Today I have a nail technique that is very simple and pretty neat. I originally saw is on Chelsea's Get Nailed, and I recreated it during my 31 Day Challenge Metallic Nails. Although at the time of the challenge I had already done these. The look is antique nails. When I think of antique nails I picture old worn wallpaper.

For this manicure you first start with a base color. Then you take another color, I think metallic polish looks best, and try to get as much polish off of the brush as possible. With whats remaining, roughly paint your nails.

On my right hand the base is China Glaze Purr-Fect Plum, with Essie Good As Gold on top. My left hand is Essie Go Overboard with Xtreme Wear Pink Satin.

Icing Hey Sailor

Today I have Icing Hey Sailor. I purchased this because I love Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe, and this is supposedly a dupe. I don't have The Lippmann, So I can't really say if it is or not, but I do know that this polish is awesome. Coming From Icing, I wasn't expecting much at all. But the formula was pretty good, and it didn't stain my nails like I anticipated. Hey Sailor has green and blue hex glitters, and micro blue glitters in a dark blue jelly base. I believe this is three coats.

Maze Nails

Hello Everyone! This is my first non-31 Day Challenge post in a while! This post, along with pretty much the next 6 or so are all from my drafts folder from a month ago. Before I unexpectedly began the Challenge I had a bunch of posts lined up and ready to go about a week in advanced. Well, I started the challenge and all of those posts got trapped in the draft folder.
My first post uncovered from the drafts are these maze nails. Sarah from Chalkboard Nails did these on a few occasions and I thought they were awesome, so naturally, I tried it out. I love the result! First I sponged on a gradient of colors, and then with a small striping brush I painted a bunch of lines in a sort of maze-like design.
I had to try more than one combination of colors.
For the base of the pink nails I used Color Club Vintage Couture, Xtreme Wear Pretty In Hot Pink, and Pink Punch. The design is Essie Mint Candy Apple. On the blue nails I did Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, XW Pacific Blue, and China Glaze Man Hunt, with XW Wet Cement for the details.

31 Day Challenge II Roundup

Hello! Now that the 31 Day Challenge is complete I thought I would just do a quick roundup post of all the manicures I did! Clicking a photo will take you to the post for that manicure.
