Glitter Wonderland

Today I have a color from the 2012 Color Club Winter Affair collection. This is Glitter Wonderland. It is the only full sized bottle I picked up from this collection. It's a purple with blue and pink shimmer, and it is amazing. The formula was great and it covered in two coats. This collection is also scented! I absolutely love Color Clubs scented polishes, and this one is no exception. To me it smells a bit like vanilla with some berry. The scent lasted for as long as I wore it, about 2 days. On my ring finger is Color Club Snow-Flakes, which is really just a standard flakie polish, but it sure does look good over Glitter Wonderland!

Glitter All The Way

Hello! Today I have an awesome glitter from the 2012 China Glaze Holiday Joy collection. It is called Glitter All The Way. GATW has a strong Mardi Gras feeling to it, but some how it still remains appropriate for the holidays. It has gold, red, green, and purple glitters in a clear base. If that doesn't scream Mardi Gras then I don't know what does! The glitter is very dense, and the brush picks it up well. I was able to cover the nail with two coats. The glitter applied very smoothly also, it wasn't too thick or gunky. This polish is great on its own, but would work well layered over another color as well.

Hank Pym

I am super excited about today's nail art. This manicure is inspired by Hank Pym, who is probably my favorite Avenger. He's most commonly known as Ant Man, in which his abilities are to shrink down using his pym particles, and communicate with ants. Over the years he has also taken up many different persona's. I wasn't sure which one to focus on for my nails, so I decided to just do all of them, or at least most of them. Overall I think he's a pretty under appreciated hero. Maybe that's why I like him so much!
My pinky nail is how the end of Hanks boots and gloves are when he is Giant Man. My ring finger is the chest of the Ant Man suit, and my middle finger is Hank Pym wearing his Ant Man helmet which enables him to communicate with ants. My pointer is the logo Hank uses as Yellow Jacket.
This is the chest of Hanks outfit as Goliath.

I used Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, China Glaze Man Hunt, Essie No Place Like Chrome, LA Splash Nudist, XW Mellow Yellow, Blue Me Away and Black Out.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi! Happy Thanksgiving! I'm really cutting it close with this post. I originally intended for it to go up yesterday, but I wasn't able to photograph my nails before the sun went down. Then, today I couldn't upload my images because my blog album was full. I didn't even know that was possible! So I spent forever trying to resolve the problem. But anyway, here are the nails that I'm sporting today. I guess I'm pretty thankful that it all worked out all right!
For this manicure I used China Glaze Mahogany Magic, Revlon Valentine, Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, and Mellow Yellow.

Fall Gradient

Hello! Today I have a really simple fall manicure. I just did a gradient using oranges and reds. I like how it turned out, but I think I probably should have added just a bit of brown, to make it more autumn-y. The base is China Glaze Cross Iron 360, with a coat of Riveting on top. On the tips of my nails I sponged on Color Club Berry And Bright, and China Glaze Ring In The Red.
Since this post is a little boring, I've included photos of my bunnies. I recently had all of them out to play together, and I took a bunch of photos!
This is Tally, she's the baby of the bunch, but she's the biggest!
Pichu, she would not stay still for a photo.
and Radar!

Mustache

Today's nail art is mustaches! This is for No Shave November, and also Movember, which is when men grow out their mustaches throughout the month of November for men's health awareness. I'd love to grow be able to grow out a mustache myself, but seeing as I can not, I figured painting my nails was the next best thing! The base color is Color Club Kiss My French. The facial hair is Xtreme Wear Black Out.

Winter Holly

Hello! Today I am wearing China Glaze Winter Holly. It's from the newest holiday collection, Holiday Joy. I picked it up in a set of minis because honestly, I'm never going to use up a full sized bottle of this. Winter Holly has fine forest green glitters in a clear base. It also has some gold glitters as well, that flash holographic when the light hits it right. This is pretty neat because I don't think woodsy greens and holograph is a common combination. The polish applied well and covered in two coats. It dries matte and gritty, so I personally would recommend at least one coat of top coat. I'm not sure whether this would be a good layering polish or not because the glitter is so dense.

Excuse Moi

Hi! I was at Ulta last weekend and for some reasons they had the OPI Muppets collection from last year. How weird! I didn't really question it though, I just wanted to get my hands on Excuse Moi! Excuse Moi was one of my favorites from the collection, but I never got the chance to get it. I'm so thrilled to finally add this to my collection!
Excuse Moi has a pink tinted base with silver and pink microglitter. It also has an array of medium sized glitter in orange, yellow, silver, blue, green, and pink. It's amazing! It's opaque in two coats and the formula is really smooth for being so packed with glitter. Because it is a glitter, it chips more easily than most polishes, but I can live with that.

Fall Tree

Hello! On my nails today I painted, but mostly sponged, a fall tree. I really wanted to do a very autumn-ish manicure, and I thought what better than to do the leaves changing colors. This design is very similar to my Inspired By A Song manicure that I did not too long ago. You kind of have to know what you're looking at to really see the picture, but I like how it came out anyway. It's difficult to make a tree look like a tree without using green!
The leaves are China Glaze Mahogony Magic, as well as the branches, Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, Sun Kissed, and Mellow Yellow. My pinky has Mellow Yellow, Zoya Arizona, Shelby, and Xtreme Wear Vibrant Violet.

Blowfish Pink

Hi everyone! I'm back from a short leave of absence, although it feels like forever since my last post. Today's post is from the good old vault. I don't remember when I did this manicure, but somehow it got lost among my photos. On my nails I am wearing LA Splash Blowfish Pink. Blowfish Pink is a pink with orange shimmer, which makes it appear a bit coral. It's a pretty color, and it applies well in two coats. Instead of just doing a swatch i added a bit of nail art

Blog Your Heart Out!

Hi everyone! I have some awesome news! Simple Joy Of Polish has chosen me as one of the bloggers to give the Blog Your Heart Out button to! How neat!
Here are the rules for the award:

The Blog Your Heart Out button is for women who love to blog. It is awarded to bloggers that have under 100 followers and, well, blog their heart out! If you are awarded, you must nominate 5 other bloggers with under 100 followers and answer the following questions:

1. What/who encouraged you start blogging?

I had been getting more and more into nail art, and my sisters and friends began to encourage me to start a nail blog and post my designs.

2. How did you choose what topic(s) to blog about?

That was easy, my love of nail polish and nail art!

3. What is something that most people don't know about you?
I wake up at 8am every   Saturday just because I love watching the Saturday morning cartoons. It's my favorite time of the week.

4.What are 3 words to describe your style?

Does this mean like fashion wise? In which case it would be casual, relaxed, simple. Those are all synonyms... I'm not huge on fashion.

5.What do you like to do when you're not blogging?

I cheerlead, and I also love reading! I spend a lot of time at Barnes and Noble.

I had a lot of fun picking out the bloggers I wanted to give this to. I don't follow a ton blogs, so I really enjoyed discovering awesome new blogs and nail artists. The decision was not easy! Definitely make sure to check out these girls, they are super talented.

Alright, Here are the bloggers that I have chosen:
1. Nuthin' But A Nail Thing
2. Baroque Fool
3. Casual Spark
4. Hand-y Feats and Other Treats

5. Topical Nail Art

Thanks again to Simple Joy Of Polish

Too Violet

Hello! Today I have an awesome polish to show! This is Color Club Too Violet. I first saw a swatch of this a couple years ago, and immediately I wanted this polish. For some reason, I was completely unable to find any further information about it. I eventually gave up on my search. Last month however, while shopping at a discount beauty store, I happened to stumble across this gem! I seriously couldn't believe it. Needless to say, I didn't think twice about buying it.
Too Violet has a purple base packed with small holographic glitter. The formula was smooth for a glitter, and applied well. I'm wearing too coats of the color by itself. I've only ever seen this polish in a mini bottle, so I'm not sure if that's all it comes in, or what. I really don't know anything about this polish other than that it looks really pretty on the nail, and it has a great formula.

Poison Ivy Inspired

Hello! It's finally November, and I am already way too excited for Christmas. Anyway, I was watching Batman and Robin on tv a little while ago, and that's where I got the inspiration for this manicure! One of the main villains in the movie is Poison Ivy, and of course I noticed her nail art. You can see them here. I loved them and decided to try them out for myself.
The orange is Zoya Arizona, and the pink is Color Club Raspberry Rush.

Monster Mash!

At last, my final Halloween manicure of the year! I didn't intend on doing so many, but whenever an idea popped into my head I just ran with it. For this manicure I did a monster mash! I painted a vampire, Frankenstein, a mummy, and a ghost! Then on my thumb I painted a skull and crossbones.
The base of Frankenstein is Revlon Posh. The dirt on the mummy is China Glaze Mahogany Magic, and the vampire's blood is Xtreme Wear Cherry Red. Everything else is painted with Wet N Wild Black, and French White.
