Thor

The Thor movie came out a year ago, and some how I had completely neglected to do nail art for the occasion! The recent release of The Avengers actually reminded me of this fact, and since then this manicure has been in the works!

On my pinky I did Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.  On my ring finger is the chest of Thor's uniform as it appears in the movie. My middle finger is sporting the more classic comic book version of Thor's feather helmet, which is on top of a red background to represent his cape. On my pointer I did a lightening bolt because Thor is the God Of Thunder, and he can conjure lightening as a form of attack. Finally, my thumb represents the chain mail that Thor wears.

I used China Glaze First Mate, Millennium, Mahogany Magic, Orly Royal Navy, Essie Power Clutch, Zoya Dovima, Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, and Wet N Wild French White Creme.

Zoya Chloe

Today I'm sporting Zoya Chloe. Chloe is a flakie with red and blue flakes that shift to green. It has very good coverage and smooth application. I used two coats over Zoya Tru and a black.

Polka Stars

Today's manicure is based off of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips You're A Star, and In The Spot Light. I wasn't going to recreate these designs because they're pretty simple and boring in my opinion, but then I realize how good of a combination they are, and I had to paint it! I just love the look of these! The stars add a nice accent to the regular old black and white polka dots.
I used Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Wet N Wild French White Creme, and Black Creme.

Prom

Here is the manicure that I wore to my school's prom this past friday. I painted them so they would resemble my dress!
The top of my dress.
I used Xtreme Wear Blue It, Black Out, and Zoya Dovima.

Fur-ocious Vocals

Today I did another recreation of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips. The ones I did today are from the Avril Lavigne collection, they're called Fur-ocious Vocals. My one friend actually mistook this manicure for the actual strips! So I guess I did a pretty good job?
The base color is China Glaze Millennium. The animal print is Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue, and Black Out.

A New Mani, And Bunny!

Today's manicure was created simply, by using just a tissue! What I did for this was paint two coats of a base color, and let it dry. After it dries apply one coat of another color, and while it's still wet, lightly dab the nail with the end of a tissue! It's a really neat effect. I used Xtreme Wear Mint Sorbet, and Essie Haute As Hello. HAH is much more pink/ coral than it appears in these photos, but I was too eager to play with my new rabbit to make sure the pictures were color accurate, hahah.

 Tally says hi!

Opposite Gradient

Once again, some lovely ladies have put together a themed manicure day! The theme this time was gradient, and because I had no other ideas of what to do, I thought I'd join in on the fun.
Here's what I came up with..

For my other hand I wanted to change it up a bit, so I did the same design but with opposite colors.
I used Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Green With Envy, Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, Cherry Red, Zoya Mira, and a black and white.

Nearly Aflorable

Once again I'm recreating one of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips designs. This manicure is based off of Aflorable. I altered the design just a tiny bit from the strips.
I used Xtreme Wear Mint Sorbet, Caribbean Coral, and a white.

Fight Club

Today's nail art is inspired by one of my favorite books and movies, Fight Club! And now I'm forced to break the first two rules of Fight Club! Anyway here's what I did for this design. I did a blood spatter, which is not a rare occurrence at Fight Club, an explosion because a character plans to blow up a skyscraper, a tie because the narrator works in an office, a kiss because he also has a kiss burned onto his hand with lye, and pink soap with the title on it, because the characters make and sell soap.
I used Color Club Heart To Heart, Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, Mellow Yellow, Essie Power Clutch, Zoya Kiki, and a black and white.

Triangular

Today's manicure is just a simple design. I used the polish's actual brushes to make  these triangles. I really like this color combination, and the mix of finishes. The only thing that bothered me was that the blue is a scented polish, and the smell of it is horrible!
Probably the most color accurate photo I could get

I used Color Club Wicked Sweet, Disco Dress, and Revvvolution.

Zoya Opal

I've been pretty busy with schoolwork lately, so I haven't really been that invested with nail art, so for now I have Zoya Opal. Zoya Opal is a green flakie. Depending on the angle of you nail, the color changes from green to teal to blue. It really only takes one coat for a good amount of coverage. It's really awesome to just move your fingers around and watch the color transform. Here I have it paired with a black and Zoya Zuza.

Things Of Similar Nature

Recently, browsing about my nail polish collection, I noticed a couple of polishes that have a lot of commonalities. I knew they weren't all the same, but I wanted to see just how different they are. The colors I grabbed are Xtreme Wear Midnight Sky, China Glaze Haunting, Stone Cold, and Zoya Dovima.
Midnight Sky, Haunting, Stone Cold, Dovima
Haunting, with its dark black base and and distinguishable silver glitter, is bar far the most different of the group. Dovima is a dark grey with very micro silver glitters. It's a matte color, but in these photos I'm wearing a glossy topcoat. Midnight Sky and Stone Cold are near identical, with the exception that Stone Cold has a matte finish. They both have grey bases, lighter than Dovima, and are packed with noticeable silver  micro glitter. Midnight Sky is just a tad shinier, and the formula is slightly better, just because it's not a matte formula. I love all of these colors and am glad that I'm now reassured that they are more different than I originally thought.

Water Marble: Success!

Water marbling is the ultimate trial and error nail art technique. Since I have been blogging I have not been able to get this method down! Luckily today, the cards were finally in my favor! It's not perfect, I had some bubbling, and some mess ups, but I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Plus I love the colors, they're like a sunset!
Left Hand-
Right Hand-
I used Color Club Heart To Heart, Xtreme Wear Twisted Pink, Coral Reef, Sun Kissed, and Mellow Yellow.

Zoya Megan

Zoya Megan is my namesake! I had to get this polish, even though I originally wasn't totally into the color. It's a its a very light neutral purple creme. The formula was very smooth and reached full opacity in two coats. It was also extremely glossy without a top coat. Even though to me this is sort of a "boring" color, I couldn't stop staring at my nails. I actually really ended up liking Megan a lot more than I thought I would.

Splatter Success!

This is my first successful splatter manicure! I've had this color combination in mind for a while, and was really excited when I thought to put it in a splatter manicure. Splatters are really neat, but boy are they a pain to do. They are extremely messy, so be prepared for some massive cleanup. Also the polish on the nail was extremely thick for me. I guess practice makes perfect! I can't wait to try out more of these!
I did this manicure today to participate in Splatterday, such an adorable name, which a bunch of lovely blogging ladies came up with.
The masterpiece I made during the process. Can't help but feel I wasted a lot of polish.

I used Xtreme Wear Coral Reef, The Real Teal, Orly Royal Navy, and China Glaze For Audrey
