Dragonfly

My first dragonfly mani. Never pictured myself to wear a dragonfly on my nails before but I'm pretty happy with the overall result. The polishes are Color Club Meet Me At The Rink, Color Club Feathered Hair Out To There, Color Club Hot-Hot-Hot Pants and I used Essie Shine Of The Times for some fun flakies.

Pastel Constellation

I am totally in love with this manicure. This was another one that I just came up with as I went and I think it's definitely my favorite so far this year.

Half Moon Mandala

For this one I used China Glaze Let's Jam, Color Club Diggin' the Dancing Queen, Color Club Feathered Hair Out To There, Color Club Hot-Hot-Hot Pants, and Color Club Macaroon Swoon and I did a mandala inspired design on top! I love how these turned out; I came up with the design totally on the fly.

Spacey Chevrons

Similar to my last chevron mani, this was also inspired by a phone wallpaper I found. This was also done using the same technique of making and applying chevron decals. Because I made the black chevron decals with glitter, they were a little too thick and and made the manicure pretty bumpy. With all the different layers of polish and glitter, these nails were quite thick overall and I just couldn't stand to wear them for very long, although they do look pretty.

Gradiented Chevrons Skittlette

This mani was inspired by a phone wallpaper I came across a while ago. To do this, I first did the gradient and then I made some chevron decals with vinyls and a silicone mat and applied them individually. My pointer is Essie Mint Candy Apple and my pinky is China Glaze Giver's Theme. On top of the gradient I used Xtreme Wear Disco Ball and Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond

Sparkling Mermaid Scales

I recently felt like painting some scales and I really wanted to go full on mermaid with these. I pretty much used any teals, greens, or aquas that I could find and then sponged them on randomly. In order to increase the mermaid effect, I added some shine with iridescent, holo, and flakie polishes; they are Xtreme Wear Disco Ball, Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond, and Zoya Opal. I never would have put all these different types of toppers together before but I absolutely love the outcome; it shines beautifully in every type of lighting. I freehand painted the scales with black acrylic paint. I kept these on for longer than I normally would because I couldn't stop staring at them.

Opalescent Scales

While these aren't actually opalescent, which would be awesome, the colors that I used remind me a bit of the color shift in opals. I used China Glaze Pack Lightly, China Glaze Dashboard Dreamer, and China Glaze Wanderlust. I also put holographic glitter on two of my nails, but I wasn't a big fan of it, so I left it off the rest.

Pastel Triangles

This might be my last manicure before I go full on holiday themed. It's just another simple tape design. I laid down some striping tape to make a triangle pattern and then I just randomly sponged on the colors. I used OPI You're Such A Budapest, Essie Mint Candy Apple, and Zoya Cole.

GOT Polish Challenge: Pink

Hello! Today is the first day of the GOT, Golden Oldie Thursday, challenge! The challenge is basically to use polishes that are at least a year old for each prompt, but you can find out all about it here. The first prompt is pink. The base I used is Orly Razzle, my very first Orly polish! Then I added some striping tape and sponged on Milani Pink Flare over it. I forgot how much I love all the holo glitters in Pink Flare!

June TPC: Day 1

Hello! It's the third week of June, and that means that it's time for another round of the Tri-Polish Challenge! The colors for this month are red, pink, and purple. For my polishes I chose Color Club Heart To Heart, Yum Gum, and Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac. My first manicure is sort of inspired by the first design in this video by MissJenFabulous. I cut up tape into triangles and then randomly placed them on my nails, already painted with a base of white. I then sponged over the nail with my three colors. I didn't want the nails to be too dark, so I only used the tiniest bit of red.

Pink Galaxy

Hello, today I have some galaxy nails. I really love galaxy nails, but for some reason I never really paint them. Recently there was an event at my school, and the theme was space. I decided I would paint celestial nails for  the event, but I wanted to mix it up a little, so I did a pink and purple galaxy! I used Xtreme Wear Pretty In Hot Pink, Color Club Pucci-Licious, and Disco Dress. I also sponged on a little bit of Nicole By OPI Let's Make A Comet-Ment.

Prismatic Glitter Gradient

Hi! Today I have a simple glitter gradient. I was digging through my stash recently and I came upon my China Glaze Prismatic nail polishes. I've never tried them on top of another color so I grabbed China Glaze Liquid Crystal and layered it over OPI Vant To Bite My Neck? It's not a terribly impressive manicure but I think it's really pretty, and I love the duochrome of the glitter!

31 Day Challenge II: Galaxy

Today calls for galaxy nails! I was super excited for this! I love galaxy nails, but I never think to do them. I love how this manicure turned out.The key to this design is to make it pretty random, and blend like crazy. I usually have difficulty when doing "random" nail art. But I'm very happy with these and, I'm sad I only get to wear them for a day. I can't wait to see what other people came up with for this day!
I really have no idea what specific colors I used, I just grabbed a bunch of, blues, purples, and teals. The holographic glitter is Nicole by OPI Lets Make A Comet-Ment, how suiting!

Opposite Gradient

Once again, some lovely ladies have put together a themed manicure day! The theme this time was gradient, and because I had no other ideas of what to do, I thought I'd join in on the fun.
Here's what I came up with..

For my other hand I wanted to change it up a bit, so I did the same design but with opposite colors.
I used Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Green With Envy, Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, Cherry Red, Zoya Mira, and a black and white.

Effie Trinket Nails

While watching The Hunger Games I noticed Effie Trinket's phenomenal nail art. One look in particular was what she wore during the reaping. My sister even leaned over to me and whispered " I think you have a new manicure" and I couldn't agree more! I love this look!
Effies nails
I used Xtreme Wear Golden-I, Plum Power, and Pink-y Ring.
