Pirate Nail Arrr-t

Hello! Here's some pirate nail art that I threw together recently! On my pointer is an anchor. For my middle finger I painted a battered up pirate, then on my ring are some red and white stripes. On my pinky is a treasure map, and my thumb is a skull and crossbones!
Pointer: The base is China Glaze First Mate, and the gold is Champagne Bubbles.
Middle: La Splash Nudist is the base and his hair is China Glaze Mahogany Magic.
Ring: Nicole By OPI Challenge Red-y.
I can't for the life of me remember what I used for my pinky, but it was some combination of colors that I mixed together for the base.

Octopus

Hello! Today I have some fun octopus nail art! For the base I started out with a gradient using Zoya Blu and China Glaze Man Hunt. For the base of Mr. Octopus I used OPI Suzi's Hungary Again. I shaded it a little by mixing the base color together with Zoya Flora, which created a color that wasn't too light for me to give him a little dimension. For his suckers I used Color Club Vintage Couture. I just love this little guy!

Paisley Bandana

Hello! Today's nails are inspired by bandana's! When I was younger I used to wear bandana's all the time. I particularly remember wearing a dark blue one with white paisley designs on it. The base of this manicure is China Glaze Man Hunt. I think if I had made the print a little larger it would have ended up looking cleaner, but that's alright!

Wooden Coaster

Hello! Last Friday was my schools annual physics day, which is when the physics students get to go on a field trip to Six Flags! For the event last year I painted a steel roller coaster, so this year I decided to do a wooden one. I was so pooped after the trip that I forgot to post these until now!
The base is Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, the track Revlon Hot For Chocolate and the cart is Valentine. The posts are a brown that I frankened.

Phillies Home Opener

Hello! Today was the Philadelphia Phillies home opener! They're a Major League Baseball team for those that may not know. I was lucky enough to get to go to the game! Obviously I did my nails for the occasion. I painted the Phillies logo across my nails and on my thumb I painted a star with red stripes, because their home uniforms are pinstriped. The red is Xtreme Wear Cherry Red and the blue is China Glaze Man Hunt. Even though the Phillies got crushed, I still had a great time at the game!

It's My Birthday!

Hi! My last post was a bit depressing, but I'm glad to say that this one is quite the opposite. Today was my birthday!! I say "was" because it's nearly midnight. I haven't ever really done any birthday nail art, so I thought why not! I painted candles sitting on a cake! No, I'm not 12. Some of the candles are a bit wonky because I painted this really quickly, but candles can melt weird, so I can play it off. Now that the day is nearly over, I can say that it was another successful birthday!
The base is Zoya Julie. The cake is Zoya Blu. The candles are Xtreme Wear Green With Envy, Fuchsia Power, and Pacific Blue. The flames are Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow and Sun Kissed.

Owl Wallet

Hello! Today I have some cute owl nail art. It's actually inspired by my wallet! The base is China Glaze For Audrey. The flowers and the owls head are OPI Can't Find My Czechbook. The dark blue is China Glaze First Mate. The owls ears and the leaves are China Glaze Starboard, the darker green is Zoya Shawn. The owl's wings are Essie Go Overboard, and his beak is Orly Lemonade.

Rainbows And Animal Print

I absolutely love today's manicure! I've seen a lot of this sort of design all over the nail art community and I had to try it out. I first put on a base of white so that my base colors would stand out better. Once I sponged those on I added a touch of glitter, then I free handed some zebra and cheetah print! I couldn't stop staring at this one.
I used Xtreme Wear Blinding Blue, Color Club Pucci-Licious, XW Pop Of Pink, Sun Kissed, Sunny Side, and Green With Envy. The glitter is Nicole By OPI Let's Make A Comet-Ment.

Spun Sugar Again

I recently posted about a nail art technique I recently found out about called Spun Sugar. I enjoyed the manicure so much that I wanted to give it another go. This time I used different colors for the "spun sugar" part to create a sort of gradient effect. Again, I didn't use a topcoat because I liked the texture of my nails.
The base colors are Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue and Pretty In Hot Pink. The detail colors are Wet n Wild French White and Black, Xtreme Wear Wet Cement, and Essie Power Clutch.

Straw Bubbles

Today I have a manicure that was created with the help of a straw. Apparently you can do all kinds of nail designs using straws! This was done by just dabbing the end of the straw in some polish and then placing the end onto my nail. The trick with this is that to get a full circle shape you have to maneuver the straw so that it touches your nail entirely, or else you'll just get some wonky half circles. This is actually my second attempt, because my first one was just a huge mess. But I really like how this one turned out. I have no idea what polishes I used, just a motley of greens, blues, pinks, and purples.

The Twilight Zone

My dad introduced me to The Twilight Zone a couple years ago, and since then we have watched every episode together. I love the original series, and really wanted to do some nail art inspired by it. The Twilight zone is pretty famous for it's iconic opening sequences, so I took images from each other them and painted them on my nails.
I used Wet N Wild French White, Black Creme, Xtreme Wear Wet Cement, and Essie Power Clutch.

Nautical

Not long ago I realized that I have never done any nautical nail art. I put it on my to-do list, and have now finally gotten to it. I looked online for some inspiration of how to aproach this, and I saw a medley of things, so I decided to go for a skittle look. I did this late at night, so it's definitely not perfect, but I think it turned out alright.
I used China Glaze First Mate for the blue. The red is Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, and the white is Wet N Wild Fench White.

Plaid

Since I did my 90s nail art, I've really been wanting to play around with some plaid designs. So the other day I did a skittle manicure of plaids with all different colors and patterns.
I used Color Club Pucci-Licious, Take Me To Your Chateau, Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, Coral Reef, Twisted Pink, BubbleGum Pink, Fuchsia Power, China Glaze First Mate, Four Leaf Clover, Zoya Shawn, Essie Power Clutch, Go Overboard, and a black and white.

Fishtails

Today's nail art is inspired by a design that I've seen on Chalkboard Nails a few times, the "fishtail." I made my design a little more curvy though, so they look more like the tops of hearts. I was planning on adding more colors to this manicure but the tips of my nails were so thick at this point that I had to stop. Also, I really like the color combination the way it is. For this look I used Zoya Kiki, Zuza, and Xtreme Wear Celeb City.

Dance Floor

Today I was really feeling a very summer-y manicure. I decided to go with neons, because what says summer more than neon! The design I came up with really makes me think of a dance floor you would see in the 70's or something. I love it! So groovy.
For this manicure I used the complete Color Club Wicked Sweet collection, which includes The Lime Starts Here, I Always Get My Man-Darin, Wicked Sweet, Gimme A Grape Big Kiss, Raspberry Rush, Yum Gum, and Get Your Lem-On. These polishes are all scented, but when put all together they just smell like a weird candy mixture.

A Spring Fling

This manicure is inspired by the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips in Spring Fling. This nail art was very easy, because the flowers on the strips aren't very neat, so I didn't have to worry about them being perfect. I just used a dotting tool to make the flowers.
My nails next to Spring Fling
I used Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, Fuchsia Power, and Zoya Mira, all over a white base.

Fish Bone

I don't know what this design is called, but it reminds me of fish bones, so I'm gonna stick with that. I love the two tone aspect of this manicure.
I used Essie Mint Candy Apple, Overboard, and Wet N Wild French White Creme.

Polka Stars

Today's manicure is based off of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips You're A Star, and In The Spot Light. I wasn't going to recreate these designs because they're pretty simple and boring in my opinion, but then I realize how good of a combination they are, and I had to paint it! I just love the look of these! The stars add a nice accent to the regular old black and white polka dots.
I used Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Wet N Wild French White Creme, and Black Creme.
