Top 10 of 2013

Hello! To round out the year I decided to put together a post featuring some of my favorite manicures from throughout 2013. I did a similar post last year as well if you have any interest in checking that out. Without further ado, here are my top 10 manicures from 2013!

10. 33DC: Day 16

9. The Wolverine
8. Rainbows and Striping Tape
7. 33DC: Day 17
6. 33DC: Day 27
5. Octopus
4. 33DC: Day 15
3. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
2. Justice League
1: Disney Series: The Little Mermaid
For my number one nail art of the year I chose The Little Mermaid. I absolutely love every manicure that I did as a part of my Disney nail art series, but unfortunately I can't put all 15 on this list! I decided to choose this particular mani from the series because it is the most viewed. It was seriously impossible for me to pick my own favorite, so I chose this as sort of a representative for the whole group!

2014 New Year Mani

Happy New Year! This is the manicure that I will be ringing in the new year with! For the base I used China Glaze Haunting. Then I painted a ton of fireworks over that with a bunch of foil polishes, I'm not exactly sure which because I just randomly grabbed a bunch. The dots on the 2014 are Xtreme Wear Golden-I. Have a great night everyone!

A Late Christmas Mani

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday! I was pretty busy yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to post this, but this is the manicure I wore yesterday for Christmas. I just did a simple design using typical Christmas colors and added a bow.
The green is Zoya Holly, the red is Color Club Berry and Bright, and the gold is Xtreme Wear Golden-I.

Wreaths and Trees

When I was brainstorming ideas for holiday manicures I realized that I have yet to paint some wreaths! I couldn't resist adding a Christmas tree as well. The base color probably wasn't the best choice, but it's too late now!
The base is Color Club Kiss My French. For the wreaths and tree I used three greens, LA Splash Greenery, Revlon Posh, and Xtreme Wear Mint Sorbet. The bows are China Glaze Merry Berry. For the ornaments I used Xtreme Wear Celeb City, Golden-I, and Color Club Merry and Bright.

Gift Wrapping

Hello! Here is another holiday manicure! This time I wanted to paint some wrapped gifts. I love the look, it's super fancy. I used Zoya Holly, Color Club Berry and Bright, Xtreme Wear Celeb City, and Golden-I.

Snowman Revisited

With the holidays approaching I thought this was a good time to revisit and old blast from the past. I decided to recreate this snowman manicure that I did a few years ago when I first started my blog, In fact it was my first post ever!
The base I used is Sinful Colors Cinderella. The red is China Glaze Merry Berry. His carrot nose is Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, and his arms are Revlon Hot For Chocolate.
Here's the old version, I'd definitely say I've improved.

China Glaze Happy Holiglaze: Glitter Toppers

Hi! Today I'm showing a few polishes from the recent Happy Holiglaze collection from China Glaze. In the collection there are three glitter topper nail polishes, and of course I had to have them.
Your Present Required has a bunch of different colored and size glitters. This includes gold, copper, silver, blue, green, pink, and white glitter. To my surprise, I only needed one coat to sufficiently cover my nails! I had some trouble picking underwear for this polishes, so I ended up settling for black, it's pretty, but not exactly festive.
Bells Will Be Blinging has a ton of small blue glitter. It also has some round gold glitter and stout holographic bar glitter. I used one coat on a dark blue and a black.
Be Merry Be Bright has two sizes of both pink and purple glitter. It's very pretty, I used one coat over Zoya Julie.

Overall the formulas were really good, nothing was too goopy or anything, and each polish is packed with glitter. I definitely think these polishes are better suited as toppers, but, with enough coats, I'm sure you could wear them alone.

Wintery Wonderland

Hello! Here is my first winter manicure of the year! For the nails I started with a base of white and one coat of China Glaze Frosty. Using BM 14 I stamped a bunch of snowflakes using Essie No Place Like Chrome, and Zoya Noel. Then, for some added shine, I sponged on some of China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Hello! Tonight I am going to see the second installment of The Hobbit, The Desolation of Smaug. For the movie I painted Smaug the dragon across my nails. There are so many different interpretations of him that I sort of pulled a bit of inspiration from all over. I even put smoke coming from his nostrils! Unfortunately this lighting makes him look pretty dull. He's much more fiery and majestic in real life!
For his body I used China Glaze Cranberry Splash. I also used some of China Glaze Riveting, Goin' My Way, Mommy Kissing Santa, and Nicole by OPI Dandy Lion. His teeth and eye are Zoya Darcy.

Stripes On Stripes

Hello! I'm currently working on some holiday/ winter manicures, but for now here's a blast from the past. I did this manicure around late August, and I just never got around to posting it. I'm not completely sure what polishes I used, but I think they're Essie Where's My Chauffeur?, Zoya Darcy, Zoya Arizona, and Xtreme Wear Razz-Berry.
Adding some striping tape for an accent nail...
Tada! I was going to do every nail with the black stripes, but I ended up liking the base stripes too much.

33DC: Day 33

Hello! It's the last day of the challenge! Today's prompt is Freestyle/recreate someone else's manicure. I decided to recreate Nuthin' But A Nail Thing's day 15 animal manicure! This girl is seriously amazing. I love everything she posts, and her flamingo nail art was no exception. I don't have any glitter like she used, so I just did polka dots instead.
For the base I used Xtreme Wear Perfect Pear-ing. The flamingos are made of Zoya Shelby, and Color Club Vintage Couture. For the polka dots I used Revlon Posh, CC Vintage Couture, Orly Lemonade, and Xtreme Wear Blinding Blue.

33DC: Day 32

Hello! The prompt for day 32 is shapes! For my manicure I just free-handed some random squares, circles, and triangles. Not all the shapes are perfect, but I think, as a whole, it looks pretty neat!. The base is Orly Lemonade. The squares are China Glaze Man Hunt, the triangles are China Glaze Sweet Hook, and the circles are Xtreme Wear Razz-Berry.

Colors of the Wind: Fall Manicure

I know it's December and I'm cutting it really close with this one, but I just really wanted to do this fall manicure. It is inspired by a nail I did based off of "The Colors of the Wind" from my Pocahontas manicure. I loved the design and I thought it would make the perfect fall look.
The base is Xtreme Wear Berry Juicy. The leaves are Xtreme Wear Violet Voltage, Zoya Arizona, Darcy, and China Glaze Red Satin.

33DC: Day 31

Day 31 says to use your 3 favorite nail polishes in a manicure. It was extremely difficult for me to pick polishes for this one, I have so many favorites! I ended up choosing Xtreme Wear Peach Beach, Perfect Pear-ing, and Essie Where's My Chauffeur? I wanted to choose polishes that I really like, but also that looked good together. I put them all together in a random dotticure.

33DC: Day 30

Once again I'm late with the challenge, oops! Today's prompt is the same pattern in various colors. I took this to mean paint the same pattern as the last day but in different colors. I did plaid again, but a bit of a different design. The pink is Xtreme Wear Pretty In Hot Pink, and the blue is China Glaze First Mate.

33DC: Day 29

Hello! Sorry this ones late, I went to the movies last night and the challenge completely slipped my mind. Day 29 says to paint your favorite pattern. I chose plaid! The base is Xtreme Wear Wet Cement. For the lines I used Revlon Iconic, and Xtreme Wear Celeb City.

33DC: Day 28

Day 28 calls for lines. Instead of doing a regular stripe manicure I decided to do a bit of a different route and follow this tutorial. Basically you just paint a bunch of random lines across your nail using a fan brush. I used Xtreme Wear Vibrant Violet, Wet Cement, White On, and Revlon Iconic. I still don't know how I feel about this manicure, I keep wavering between really liking it and hating it.

33DC: Day 27

Hello! Day 27 says to incorporate 3 patterns into a manicure. I was thinking of possible ideas when this manicure, which I did earlier this year, came to mind! I loved what I did then, so I thought I would sort of recreate it. The flowers are Xtreme Wear Peach Beach, and the details are Fuschia Power. The leaves are Revlon Posh. The grey is Wet Cement. I'm super happy with this, I ended up wearing it a few days longer than I had planned.
