Sally Hansen Salon Effects: Spun For You

This is my last Halloween manicure for the year! And I hardly even had to do anything! For my last Halloween manicure of the year I decided to give Sally Hansen Salon Effects another shot because they came out with the cutest designs for fall! I originally was going to resist buying these, considering the miserable results I got last time, but I caved.

I have to say, I cannot get these things to work for me! I don't know what I've been doing wrong! I've tried it with and without topcoat, and they peel up right away! They have a new collection coming out for winter, and as adorable as those are, I don't think I'll be buying any of them. They are too expensive for what they are, especially if your somewhat good at freehand nail art, and, for me at least, they don't come even close to lasting even 5 days, let alone 10.
Despite the lousy outcome I had with them, I really like the look. I just wish that they were either a little cheaper, or had better lasting ability. I got a lot of compliments on these and I hated having to say that they were, in fact, not freehand.

Jack-O-Lanterns

Of course I had to do a Jack-O-Lantern manicure for Halloween! I'm not entirely thrilled with how this turned out, but for now, it suffices. They're very silly pumpkins, a lot like something I would actually carve, hahah.

Left Hand-
The base is Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, the detailing is Wet N Wild Black Creme.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Welcome! It's so weird not starting a post with "Day blah blah is blah blah." Now that my 31 Day Challenge is completed, I can finally start officially doing Halloween manicures! I did this mani a day after I finished my 31 Day Challenge. I guess it really is going to take some time getting used to long wear manicures again.
Isn't he cute?!
The base color is Revlon Facets Of Fuchsia, the spider and web are Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and the green eyes are Sinful Colors Irish Green.

31 Day Challenge: Day 31!!!

It's the final day of the 31 Day Challenge! Day 31 is Re-Create Your Favorite Challenge. Now, does this mean re-do your favorite mani? Or do a new design from a previous day? Who knows, but I went with the second. I redid a rather simple challenge, Day 17 Glitter.

As I've stated in recent posts, I'm in Halloween mode. Because of this, I decided to showcase a color from the new Haunting collection by China Glaze. This is It's Alive.
It's Alive is a mossy olive green glitter palooza! The glitter is dense and provides great coverage. It's very gritty when dry though, even with a thick top coat like Seche Vite.

I can't believe I made it through 31 days of manicures! I think my favorite was Day 15, Delicate Print. Up next I'll be working on some Halloween designs!

31 Day Challenge: Day 30

Day 30 is Inspired By a Tutorial
I had trouble finding a tutorial for this challenge. I originally went to google to find a nail art tutorial, but it just didn't deliver. Then, just in time, Sarah at Chalkboard Nails posted this amazingly adorable Halloween manicure, tutorial included! So great, especially because I'm in the Halloween mood. You can view this tutorial here.
The base color I used for the Base is Xtreme Wear Flirt. The white is Sinful Colors Snow Me White. The veins on the eyes is Sally Hansen HD Hi-Res, and the eye colors are Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Color Club Twiggie, and Revlon Hot For Chocolate. The pupils are Wet N Wild Black Creme.

31 Day Challenge: Day 29

Today is Inspired by the Supernatural!
I really like this theme. It's very suiting since its October, and October means Halloween! And I guess aliens are pretty spooky. For this manicure I did aliens. Not just aliens, but glow in the dark aliens!
The glow on my nails was too subtle for my camera to pick up, so just imagine this with alien eyes and nostrils, hahah.

I used Color Club The Lime Starts Here with a coat of China Glaze Ghoulish Glow to make it glows in the dark! The detailing is Wet N Wild Black Creme.

31 Day Challenge: Day 28

Day 28 is Inspired By A Flag!
A bit of an odd theme, but okay! I did this manicure inspired by the British flag. It's sloppier than I would normally like to see. I think I'm starting to slack off now that the challenge is coming to an end.
I used Xtreme Wear White On, Blue It, and Very Cherry.

31 Day Challenge: Day 27

Today's challenge is Inspired By Artwork!
I love the work of artist Georges-Pierre Seurat.  He painted using the technique of "pointallism" which is basically small dots applied to create an image, for example:
(Image from Google Image Search)

Obviously I couldn't paint something this intricate, but I did use this technique to create much simpler images.
Heart, Flower, Star, Bow
Ladybug
I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as a base for each finger.
Pinky- Xtreme Wear Bubblegum Pink, Color Club Heart To Heart.
Middle- Milani Blue Lightening with Color Club Alias mixed in. Star is China Glaze Midnight Kiss.
Ring- Xtreme Wear Going Green, Twisted Pink, Mellow Yellow, and Color Club Take Me To Your       Chateau.
Pointer- Zoya Flora (pink) and Caitlin.
Thumb- Xtreme Wear Cherry Red, Wet N Wild Black Creme, Color Club Twiggie.

31 Day Challenge: Day 26

Today's challenge is Inspired By A Pattern.
It's so hard to decide what to do for these inspired manicures! I was going to base this manicure after the wallpaper in my room, but I felt that it was too similar to other manicures I've already done during this challenge. Somehow I ended up doing this mani based off of the album covers of cds from one of my favorite bands, The Aquabats.
On my pointer and ring finger is Color Club Raspberry Rush and I Always Get My Man-Darin. On the pinky and middle is Wet N Wild Black Creme, Color Club Raspberry Rush, Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, and Blue Me Away! The thumb is Sinful Colors Snow Me White with Color Club Get You Lem-On, Gimme A Grape Big Kiss, and Wicked Sweet sponged on.

31 Day Challenge: Day 25

Day 25 is Inspired By Fashion.
I know nothing about fashion. I do know that I love wearing jeans though. In fact they are the only type of pants that I own, aside from pajamas! This inspired me to do a denim manicure.
It's a bad picture, but it's a little more color accurate.

I used Orly Royal Navy and Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau.

31 Day Challenge: Day 24

Today is inspired by a book!

Like yesterday, today I was also faced with a tough choice. When I actually thought about practical designs though, the choice was obvious. Todays nails are inspired by the book Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. This is a great book, and the cover is perfect for nail art.
I tried to do an actual splatter manicure, using a straw and everything, but every time I would blow through the straw the polish would just plop out in a big glob. Because of this I just settled for basically making a mess on my nails using a toothpick! I think it worked fairly well. Not exactly what I originally had in mind though.
I used Xtreme Wear White On and Color Club Yum Gum.

31 Day Challenge: Day 23

Day 23 is inspired by a movie!

I'm a pretty big movie fan, so it was really difficult for me to settle on a design. So, here are my Star Trek nails! I asked my friend for advice on what to do and he mentioned Stark Trek. Obviously I didn't think it was a bad idea.
I did a galaxy on the pinky and thumb and the Starfleet insignia on all the different colored shirts that the members of the Starfleet wear.

For the colors I used in the galaxy you can visit my galaxy mani here. The base of the other fingers are Color Club Heart To Heart, Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue, and a slightly altered Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow. I added a bit of black to Mellow Yellow because the yellow shirts are a bit more muddy. The actual starfleet logo is China Glaze Millennium, and the little star in it is Wet N Wild Black Creme.

31 Day Challenge: Day 22

Todays challenge is Inspired By a Song!

This is one of the designs I've had planned from the beginning. This manicure is inspired by the song Do You Believe In Love by Huey Lewis and the News. I love this song.
It's kind of obvious why I did the design that I did, question marks and hearts.
I used KleanColor Twinkly Love for the hearts, and Color Club Yum Gum or the base. The question marks are a ton of different colors, so I'll just list them. Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, Heart To Heart, Gimme A Grape Big Kiss, Pucci-licious, Vinatge Couture, China Glaze For Audrey, Four Leaf Clover, Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue, and Fuchsia Power.

31 Day Challenge: Day 21

Today is the start of the last section of this challenge, inspiration! This is the section I've been most excited for. The first challenge is inspired by a color! I'm not really sure how that's supposed to be done, so I did an ombre manicure inspired by pink! Well, it's more of a mix between an ombre manicure and a skittle manicure, but whatever, either way it's cute!
Left to Right- Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power,  Color Club Yum GumXtreme Wear Bubblegum PinkColor Club Vintage CoutureColor Club Raspberry Rush.

I added a coat of Xtreme Wear Pink-y Ring on top for some pink glitter.

This is the last section and here's what's coming up!
