Needle Drag

So here is my first attempt at a needle drag manicure. It did not go so well. But, to be fair, I didn't use the traditional needle drag method. This is because I was trying to recreate a manicure from the Sally Hansen Salon Effects collection. It didn't turn out quite the way I had anticipated, but it could be worse!
I used China Glaze Flying Dragon, Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power, and Wet N Wild French White Creme.

Glitter Art

Today I have some simple but neat nail art. I originally saw this design on Pinterest or something like that, but I don't really remember. I love doing a design in glitter over a creme polish though. To make this look I used a base color of China Glaze First Mate, and I used the glitter Nicole By OPI Snowman Of My Dreams.

Marbled In Water

Today I have a water marble manicure! I've had a lot more time on my hands recently, so I've been playing around with marbling, and I think I have a bit of a better handle on it. I think my only problem now is getting designs other than those big flower-like swirls. Anyway, I'm pretty proud of this manicure! I think my thumb definitely turned out the best.
I used China Glaze For Audrey, Color Club Yum Gum, Vintage Couture, Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away, Fuchsia Power, and Sinful Colors Cinderella.

Fruity Fimo

Since I haven't played around with fimo for a while now I thought it was time to feature it in yet another manicure. The pack of fimo sticks that I have comes with a ton of fruit images that are perfect for summer! I couldn't settle on just one design to I did a collage of fruits on my nails. I find that cutting the fimo sticks is both extremely fun, and frustrating.
The base colors I used are Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Going Green, Sun Kissed, and LA Splash Nudist.

Crackle?!

It has been a while since I played around with this polish, so the other day I thought I should break out some crackle! When I got it a year ago I could not figure out what to put under this pink crackle. I don't know why it used to be so difficult because now I have a ton of ideas! What I picked for this manicure was a base color of Xtreme Wear The Real Teal and a crackle top coat of China Glaze Broken Hearted. I added a glossy top coat.

Then I matted it using Essie Matte About You.

3/4's

Today is a really simple manicure. I just painted 3/4's of my nail with one color, and the rest another. The look kind of reminds me of margins on paper. Anyway, I love this color combination! I mean, how could I go wrong using my favorite pink and purple! They are both Color Club. The pink is a scented polish, Raspberry Rush, and the purple is Disco Dress. They're borth very bright and very hard to photograph, so this may not be 100% color accurate, but it's close enough.

Loki

I am super excited about today's nail art! It's inspired by Loki of Asgard! He's Thor's brother, and the villain in the recent Avengers movie. He's pretty awesome too. Here's what I came up with...
My pinky is inspired by the fact that Loki is a Frost Giant. On my ring finger is the scepter  that Loki uses in the Avengers. My middle finger is Loki's famous helmet, and my pointer finger is the torso of one of Loki's outfit's in Thor.
I used Zoya Holly, Dovima, China Glaze Millennium, Champagne Bubbles, Haunted, Frostbite, Xtreme Wear Golden-I, and LA Splash Greenery. My pinky is a whole mixture of blues including Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, Cold Metal, Sinful Colors Cinderella, LA Splash Ocean Sparkles, and NYC Cashmere Creme.

He's Going In Circles

I was lucky enough to get my hands on this polish from the China Glaze Kaleidoscope Collection before they all sold out on 8ty8beauty.com. This color is He's Going In Circles. HGIC is a light sea foam green with a scattered holo. I used about three thin coats. There's a lot more holo in this polish than I expected. I'm very pleased with it.

Heiress

Today I am wearing LA Splash Heiress. Heiress is just purple micro glitter in a clear base. When the glitter hits the light it almost looks like a magenta color. The glitter is pretty dense so this color can be worn on it's own. I think it took about four coats to be opaque. Since the glitter is so tiny my nails felt very smooth. It also didn't "suck" all the top coat up, so my nails stayed pretty shiny too.

Ocean Sprinkles

Today I have another La Splash color that I recently picked up. This one is called Ocean Sprinkles. Ocean Sprinkles has a sheer light blue base with gold/orange sparkles in it. The formula's pretty good, but the color takes about four coats to get anywhere near opaque, so I paired it over a couple of colors. My pinky is OS by itself. Then I have it over Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue, and Blue It.

Weird lighting, but It shows off the color of the glitters better.

Sinful Colors Cinderella

I have wanted Sinful Colors Cinderella for a while, and could never find it anywhere. But recently it's been popping up everywhere! I was so ecstatic to find this polish, I bought it immediately. Cinderella is a very sheer pastel blue with pink shimmer. It took about four coats to be opaque, and there's still a tiny bit of visible nail line. I actually like the sheerness of it though. I'm wearing Cinderella by itself in the pictures, and although I love this color on it's own, I'm excited to try it over all kinds of blues.

Fishtails

Today's nail art is inspired by a design that I've seen on Chalkboard Nails a few times, the "fishtail." I made my design a little more curvy though, so they look more like the tops of hearts. I was planning on adding more colors to this manicure but the tips of my nails were so thick at this point that I had to stop. Also, I really like the color combination the way it is. For this look I used Zoya Kiki, Zuza, and Xtreme Wear Celeb City.

Embellished

Recently at Bed Bath and Beyond I noticed a new polish display sporting the brand LA Splash. I know nothing about this brand other than the fact that they sell amazing glitters, so I picked a bunch up. One of the ones I got is called Embellished. Embellished is mainly made up of small hot pink glitter, but it also had a ton of red and holographic glitter too! The glitters are very dense as well, they are really packed in there! This is probably the only glitter polish I own that is opaque in two coats. Also the polish does not suck up top coat, so the manicure remained smooth and shiney.

It's All In the Cut

Today I have an awesome polish from Wet N Wild's ColorIcon collection, It's All In The Cut. It came out around fall, but for some reason I've put off wearing this polish until now. IAITC has pale purple microglitter and larger light pink glitter. At some angles it even appears to have a bit of holographic glitter. I used three coats for full opacity. The color can be a little bit boring, but I really like wearing pale purples.

Zoya Adina

Today I'm wearing Zoya Adina! Adina is a light purple polish with green duochrome! It has a bit of a metallic finish, but it's not all brushstrokey. The formula's a bit sheer at first. I used three coats because at two the color just didn't seem to stand out enough. This is such a great color, plus I love wearing pale purples.

Dance Floor

Today I was really feeling a very summer-y manicure. I decided to go with neons, because what says summer more than neon! The design I came up with really makes me think of a dance floor you would see in the 70's or something. I love it! So groovy.
For this manicure I used the complete Color Club Wicked Sweet collection, which includes The Lime Starts Here, I Always Get My Man-Darin, Wicked Sweet, Gimme A Grape Big Kiss, Raspberry Rush, Yum Gum, and Get Your Lem-On. These polishes are all scented, but when put all together they just smell like a weird candy mixture.

A Spring Fling

This manicure is inspired by the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips in Spring Fling. This nail art was very easy, because the flowers on the strips aren't very neat, so I didn't have to worry about them being perfect. I just used a dotting tool to make the flowers.
My nails next to Spring Fling
I used Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, Fuchsia Power, and Zoya Mira, all over a white base.
