China Glaze Love Marilyn

Love Marilyn is also part of the new China Glaze Eye Candy collection. It's just small round bright red glitters with slightly larger silver ones throughout. Since it's in a clear base it took about three coats for opacity, but if you look closely, you can still see a bit of nail.
This would be a great Valentines Day manicure! My nail art was done using Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara

Lorelei's Tiara has silver micro glitter in a clear base with round ice blue glitters sprinkled throughout. It's so shiny and wintery! It's opaque enough to cover the nail on it's own in two coats. You could do three, but I think it would get a little thick. As expected, it's very gritty. Unfortunately my Sally's only had a 4 piece set of the Eye Candy collection. Why? I'll never understand, but I must get the other two to round off this collection!
I did a goofy little tiara nail art on the ring finger using Xtreme Wear Bubblegum Pink.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving all! This is the manicure I will be wearing while I feast upon some turkey. Rather than doing a strictly Thanksgiving manicure, I did a more general fall one, by painting leaves!
Te base color is China Glaze Going My Way? The leaves are Color Club Gingerbread Man (Gold), Perfect Mol-Ten (Green), ELF Red Velvet (Red), and China Glaze Cross Iron 360 (Orange).

Color Club Wild At Heart

This is Color Club Wild At Heart. It has been a lemming of mine for quite a while. I'm sooo glad I got it, It's amazing! It's a deep purple holographic. The holo is pretty subtle, like other Color Club holographs. Also it's not really a rainbow holograph, but more of a pink.
I did accent nail detail using Color Club Worth The Risque, another holo, to spice up the traditional swatch photo a bit. I'm not a big fan of just wearing a color plain.

100!

It's my 100th post! In elementary school, for the 100th day of school everyone in the class would bring in a 100 of something, so for this special manicure, I decided to do 100 polka dots using 100 different polishes!
I don't think it's even possible for me to name every color I used. I basically just closed my eyes and picked 100 colors from my collection.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pumpkin Spice

Pumpkin Spice was all the rave around Halloween. I felt like it was more of a late fall/ Thanksgiving color than a Halloween color, so I've been saving it for now.
Pointer and ring: Pumpkin Spice
Middle and pinky: Pumpkin Spice over black.
Pumpkin Spice is a brown/ black sheer jelly base with orange glitters throughout. I prefer the way the color looks by itself, except it took four coats to get to that opacity. Over black it's pretty boring, nothing special.

Blue Stripeage

I think what I liked most about the 31 Day Challenge was that I didn't have to make up names for my posts. With simple designs like these, I never know what to call them! That's how lame names like "Blue Stripeage" are born. Anyway, I was inspired by this picture, and attempted to do a similar looking manicure. I was mildly successful.
I used every blue I have in my collection for this manicure, so I'm certainly not listing them all.

Week Of Glitter: Sinful Colors Frenzy

It's my last day of the Week Of Glitters! I had fun doing this little series and have plans to do some more in the future. For now I just can't wait to get back to nail art though. The last glitter I have to showcase is Sinful Colors Frenzy. I don't have very many Sinful Colors polishes, but of the few, Frenzy was the first one I ever got.
Frenzy has ice blue and purple glitters in a clear base. It layered it over Zoya Dovima. Dovima is a matte polish, so I thought it would be fun to put Essie Matte About You on top of the mani.

Week Of Glitter: Kleancolor Aurora

Day 6! Kleancolor originally caught my eye because of its amazing glitters. One of the first colors I got was Aurora, because of it's awesome star glitters.
Aurora has iridescent stars and multi-sized glitter in a clearish pink base. This polish is pretty, but extremely thick! I could hardly work with it, and the dry time was absurd, even with Seche Vite on top.

Week Of Glitter: Wet N Wild Black Magic

Day 5! Wet N Wild Black Magic is part of the Fantasy Makers collection, which means that it comes in that adorable tombstone bottle. I found Black Magic at a Halloween store last month. It was the only one in sight, and I practically backflipped from joy. I later found out that it was actually from last years collection, so I guess I got lucky!
Black Magic is thin rainbow bar glitter in a clear base. Bar glitter! The bar glitter isn't terribly annoying, like usual, because it's so tiny, you just have to be careful that no glitters are hanging off the edge of your nail. This glitter is so fun, it's like confetti, I love it!

Week Of Glitter: Nicole by OPI Orna-Ment For Each Other

Day 4! Orna-Ment For Each Other is part of Nicole by OPI's recent holiday collection. I really liked the entire collection, but wasn't really planning on getting any, until I opened the bottle and saw... A round brush! The new holiday collection has scrapped that awful paddle brush and swapped it for a nice round, easy to use one! Once I saw that brush, I was convinced, I had to have that collection!
Orna-Ment For Each Other consists mainly of red glitters, with some gold mixed in a clear base. This color is very buildable. It can take two coats for opacity, depending on how thick you apply it, but I still noticed tiny bald spots on my nails, so I did three. Something I also noticed about this polish is that it dries in a satin type finish, so I added a top coat. Nicole by OPI did a great job with this color, it's perfect for Christmas!

Week Of Glitter: Xtreme Wear Set The Stage

Day 3 of my Glitters Week! Since Set The Stage is part of Sally Hansen's Extreme Wear line, obviously I had to have it. I was excited when I originally purchased it because it was unique to my collection, but upon further inspection, I realized that the glitter isn't very dense, and therefore lost all desire to use it.
Set The Stage has gold micro glitters and hexagonal glitters in a clear base. At first I was less than thrilled about how sparse the glitters in this polish are. It's not a very buildable polish, but I kinda like how the gold looks all scattered on the nail.

This is Set The Stage layered over Orly Sweet Peacock. I've been really into the blue and gold combination lately, so I'm digging how this manicure looks.

Week Of Glitter: Color Club Wish Upon A Rock-Star

This is my second day of my Week Of Glitters, and I have another Color Club to showcase! Color Club recently released a collection called Back Stage Pass, an entirely glitter- palooza collection! Only one color from the collection really caught my eye though, Wish Upon A Rock-Star.
WUAR has a clear base packed with crazy multi-colored glitter. Honestly, I'm not a fan of how this polish looks in the bottle, but I actually really like it on the nail! It applied surprisingly well, but it kinda got a little gloopy on the brush after a bit of usage, nothing that cant be over looked though. With one coat of top coat, it's not terribly gritty, more of a slight bumpiness which is not bothersome to me in the slightest.

Wish Upon A Rock-Star is layered over Zoya Kiki and Wet n Wild Black Creme.

Week Of Glitter: Color Club Sugar Plum Yum

I noticed recently that I have a lot of untried glitters, so I decided to do a Week Of Glitters!  When I walked into Sally's the other day I could not believe what I was seeing. On the display was a Color Club collection! Not only that, but it was a collection I had absolutely no knowledge of. This particular collection is the Scent-suous Collection. At first glance, I wasn't terribly in love with any of the colors, and since I already had polishes ready for purchase, I only got one. I got Sugar Plum Yum.
Sugar Plum Yum is scented and has small green and larger purple glitters in a clear base. I love the color combination! It applies fairly well for how chunky the glitter is. You could get away with one coat, but I went back and filled in some of the bare spots. The polish is quite thick, as expected with a glitter like this, but it's nothing totally unbearable. It also sticks up from the nail a bit, so I'd recommend two coats of top coat. Also, I really like the smell, it's just like those nerd filled gum balls! I really want to go back to Sally's and get more from this collection.

Sugar Plum Yum is layered on top of Zoya Holly and Wet N Wild Black Creme.

Remember the 5th of November

I know it's now the 6th, but I didn't have time to post this yesterday. November 5th is known as Guy Fawkes Day. Guy Fawkes was employed by the Catholic Church in the 1600s to destroy parliament and overthrow the church of England. As seen in the movie V for Vendetta, Fawkes is made out to look like a heroic figure, freeing the people of England. My manicure is mostly inspired by the movie V for Vendetta.
My base colors are Wet N Wild Black Creme and Xtreme Wear White On.
Pinky: China Glaze Adore, Midnight Kiss , Color Club Cold Metal, and Hot Like Lava.
Ring- Xtreme Wear Cherry Red
Middle- Wet N Wild Black Out, Color Club Vintage Couture, a lightened Essie Power Clutch
Pointer- China Glaze Midnight Kiss, Millennium, Orly Sweet Peacock, Zoya Noel

Conan O'Brien

I've had ideas to do Conan nails in the works for a while, but when my sister asked me to come with her to an upcoming show of his in New York, it was the perfect chance to finally do them!
The orange is Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed. The white is Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and the base is Essie Power Clutch.
