31 Day Challenge II: Violet Nails

Hi! Today is day 6, Violet Nails! Or as I just like to call it, purple nails. For this manicure I did sugar spun nails! I love this technique. It's as simple as draping strips of tacky nail polish across your nail. It makes a neat effect, and I actually love the fact that this doesn't need top coat, it feels so neat! Ignore the fact that these pictures are extremely yellow. Taking them in this lighting was the only way to get the nail polish color accurate.
The base is Color Club Age Of Aquarius. The purples I used are Color Club Disco Dress, Pucci-Licious, and Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac.

31 Day Challenge II: Blue Nails

Day 5 of the 31 Day Challenge calls for blue nails! I really couldn't settle on a design for this one.
Eventually I decided to just do a splatter manicure using just a handful of blues. I've grown to love splatter manicures. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but once I did I found them to be pretty simple. Also, despite being fairly messy, and a tad wasteful, I love seeing how all the excess polish splattered onto the paper. I started off with a white base, Xtreme Wear White On, and then I pretty much just closed my eyes and grabbed polishes. That being said, I have no ideas what specific colors I'm wearing..

My masterpiece!

Topping Lane

Hello! Today I have already posted my green nails for the 31 Day Challenge, but I have a bunch of other posts in the works from before I started the challenge, so I'll be posting them periodically throughout the month. In this post I have an awesome Nails Inc polish.
Topping Lane is another polish from the Nails Inc Sprinkles collection. If you recall, I loved the last two polishes I reviewed from this collection, and really this one is no different. Topping Lane has purple, magenta, and white glitters in a  pink jelly base. This has a similar formula as the others, a bit thick but smooth. It also only needed two coats. Although I really like this polish too, the color just doesn't stand out to me when compared to Pudding Lane and Sweets Way. So yes, this polish is a winner, but it's not my favorite.

31 Day Challenge II: Green Nails

Hello! Today is day 4 of the 31 Day Challenge. Today's requirement is Green Nails! For my green nails I did camouflage. I was expecting this to look kinda muddy, but I think it turned out pretty well!
The base color I used is China Glaze Starboard. Then I used a medley of greens including Xtreme Wear Green With Envy, Zoya Shawn, and LA Splash Greenery. There may be a few other greens thrown in there though. The brown is China Glaze Mahogany Magic and the black is Wet N Wild Black Creme.

31 Day Challenge II: Yellow Nails

Today is day 3 of 31, which is yellow nails. For my yellow nails, which are really more blue, I did bees! I always thought those flying bee manicures were really cute so I wanted to put my own little spin on it.
The base is Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau. The tree is China Glaze Mahogany Magic and the hive is a yellow mixed with some brown. The flower stem is Xtreme Wear Going Green. The petals, and the bees are XW Mellow Yellow. Then I added accents with a black and white.

31 Day Challenge II: Orange Nails

With day one of the challenge complete, we now move onto day 2, orange nails. I actually really like the color orange, but I only own maybe 5 orange polishes. For my nail art today I did carrots! I love carrots but I get hiccups every time I eat them. Compared to yesterday, this manicure is extremely simple. That's because I painted it using my non-dominant hand.
I did brown as the base because I wanted it to be like soil, but I wish I'd chosen a different color because I just don't think the brown and orange together is very attractive
The base is China Glaze Mahogany Magic. The carrots are Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed and LA Splash Greenery.

31 Day Challenge II: Red Nails

Hi! Today I have some exciting news! I will be doing the 31 Day Challenge yet again. This challenge has resurfaced on a bunch of popular nail blogs and I couldn't resist doing it again. Like most of the bloggers participating, I really want to see how much I've grown as a nail artist since last year. Also, it keeps me busy. Anyway, on to the challenge! It's the same as last year, with the exception of day 31.
That being said, day 1 is.... Red Nails! (I've always wanted to change the font color!) This year I wanted to do some nail art for the first 6 days, rather than just plan old swatches. Boy, do I think I kicked off this challenge in a great way! When I thought about red things the first item that popped into my head was my car. I drive a '92 Saab convertible named Roy.
It's old, the paints chipping, and it has no A/C, but I love it! I've never really painted one image on three different nails before, so at first I had a bit of trouble getting the proportions right, but I'm really happy with how it turned out! Of course I had to include myself cruising in the car. On to the unnecessary amount of pictures!

For the base of the car nails I used Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau. The car is Xtreme Wear Cherry Red and the accents on it are Essie Power Clutch, No Place Like Chrome, a black, and a tiny bit of Color Club I Always Get My Man-Darin. The road is Essie Power Clutch and XW Mellow Yellow, and the grass is LA Splash Greenery. I am mainly made of LA Splash Nudist, and China Glaze Mahogany Magic. My Thumb is China Glaze First Mate and Essie No Place Like Chrome
